I am a Flitestar user and I recently wanted to upgrade to
Flitemap IFR. To my shock, Jeppesen appears to no longer sell
Flitemap. Why would they stop selling their only moving map
product?

I believe Jeppview now handles this.

It isn't their only moving map product. FliteDeck, which is bundled
with JeppView 3.X, is a database driven moving map program.

But why would I want a different product for moving map than for
flight planning? I thought the whole value of Flitemap was to
integrate those activities in one place.

I agree with you. They have mis-managed the marketing of these products
from the start, and though I don't know why they are discontinuing FM, I
wouldn't be surprised to learn that, having confused and alienated their
customers to the breaking point, the product may not be selling as well
as they had hoped.

I'm in the same boat as you - FS user for many years, I keep wondering
about upgrading to FM, but after my experience with their sales
department - just about the worst customer experience this side of
prison - I take it as almost a blessing that they've answered the
question for me.

People here seem pretty satisfied with JeppView, so hopefully they're
doing a better job with that product. That still doesn't answer your
question about the FS/FM combo, which was supposed to allow you to
import your planning directly to your moving map. . .
